Passionate about the art song repertoire, Teodora has performed recitals in major venues and festivals such as the Wigmore Hall in London, Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, LIFE Victoria Festival in Barcelona, Musée d’Orsay in Paris and London’s Buckingham Palace. Her performances alongside various singers and instrumentalists have been broadcast on BBC 4, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the National Romanian Television and the National Spanish Television.
She is a former scholar of the Heidelberg Lied Academy, the Académie Orsay-Royaumont and the Yehudi Menuhin LIFE Music Now Foundation. Teodora performs regularly with her duo partner baritone Michael Arivony. Together they have won the 1st prize at the International Student Lied Duo Competition in Groningen (Netherlands), 3rd prize at the Das Lied Competition in Heidelberg (Germany). She has also been awarded the best piano accompanist at the John Warner Singing competition in Chichester (United Kingdom) and the Robert Schumann Song Competition at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Having studied piano performance with Szokolay Balázs at the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT in Weimar (Germany), she then pursued her Master’s Degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Prof. Michael Dussek and James Baillieu. She received the DipRAM title for an outstanding performance on her Postgraduate final recital. Back in Weimar, she crowned her studies with a Konzertexamen in Liedgestaltung in the class of Prof. Thomas Steinhöfel, graduating with Distinction in 2020. Additionally, she took masterclasses with distinguished musicians such as singers Thomas Hampson, Christoph Prégardien, Véronique Gens, KS Edda Moser and pianists Malcom Martineau, Graham Johnson, Susan Manoff, Gerold Huber and Hartmut Höll.
Passionate about discovering hidden song treasures, during her Konzertexamen she undertook a research project in collaboration with the Music Archive of Thuringia. With her project Weimarer Liederschule she is keen to reveal and reintroduce in the standard song repertoire works by less well-known composers of the 20th century.
Teodora is currently based in San Sebastian (Spain), where she is the pianist of the Orfeón Donostiarra choir, with whom she performs regularly in venues such as the Kursaal Auditorium in San Sebastian, Burgos Auditorium and the Festival Soriano. At the same time, between 2021-2023 Teodora was teaching Song Accompaniment at her Alma mater, the Hochschule für Musik FRANZ LISZT Weimar, as part of the Thuringian Funding Programme for young scientists and artists. In May 2023 she was awarded the Associateship of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) for making a significant contribution in the musical field.
